Plastic vs Metal Handles 

While metal handles are stronger and not likely to ever break, they can permanently deform under load and their connection point to the pail is prone to failure. Conversely, even though plastic handles are not as strong as metal ones, their connection to the pail is far more secure and much less likely to fail.
